September So Far....

Our fall has gotten off to a busy start.
On September 5, we took Emma and our nephews to Brookfield Zoo. Dave and I had free passes because I was attending the Fisher-Price Mommy Shower. We were in the first session which started before the zoo opened, so Jack and Kyle got in for free too! I spent an hour in the Mommy shower checking out the various booths and picking up the freebies and samples. I listened to the Fisher-Price sales pitch and entered the raffle for all new baby gear. While I was doing that, Dave and the kids checked out so of the outdoor exhibits. We got to see the Butterfly exhibit before it closed up for the year, ride the carousel, and visit the children's zoo. We had wanted to go see the Dolphin show, but couldn't get across the zoo in time. After the zoo we headed to Dave's parents where Julie made dinner for everyone. It was a good day and Emma had a lot of fun.
Labor day was pretty quiet at home. Dave got a few things done around the yard, with Emma doing her best to help. I was able to spend sometime working on Emma's big girl room. Mainly, I finished going through the closet and dresser in the nursery and moving stuff over.
This past weekend was just busy! We had the village's annual recycling extravaganza and plenty of errands to run on Saturday. I also made my Tunnel of Fudge cake for Sunday's DAR meeting. Emma wanted so badly to help! She spend most of the time I was mixing standing on a chair in the kitchen looking into the mixer. "Cracking Eggs" was her favorite game for the rest of the day. I had my first DAR chapter meeting of the year on Sunday. Dave and Emma hung out at home to watch the Bear's game and the movie CARS.
Peanut and I had our monthly check up yesterday. His rate rate was in the 150's. My blood pressure was good and I only gained 1.5 lbs over the past month for a total of 8 pounds for the last 6 months. The only big news from the appointment is that it's time for me to have my Glucose Tolerance Test. Because of the gestational diabetes I had with Emma, I am going straight for the 3 hour test and have scheduled it for this coming Saturday morning.
Emma continues to do great in her big girl bed. The amount of time I have to spend with her waiting for her to go to sleep seems to be getting shorter. A good thing for Mommy!
