The second half of our September was just as busy as the first half! Here's a recap...
I had my 3 hour glucose tolerance test the morning of September 18. I made it through the test without too much trouble and enjoyed a Potbelly's meatball sandwich right after. That evening Dave and I had our first church dinner club get together. It was a lot of fun to meet some new people!
When my glucose test results came in, they weren't great.... I am a gestational diabetic again :( As unpleasant as this news was, it wasn't a big surprise. I was able to pick up my new blood glucose monitor the day after getting my diagnosis. That made it easier to start following the diet and keeping track of things.
Sunday the 26th found us celebrating birthdays with our nephews, Jack and Kyle. We went to Little Italian in Naperville for some very yummy pizza... then back to their house for gifts and cake. It's a lot of fun getting to watch the kids dig into all of their gifts. Both boys got new bikes and they were a hit!!! Unfortunately, I didn't get to have any cake because the pizza did a number on my blood sugar. Boo!
On the 29th, Julie was nice enough to keep Emma for me (much to Emma's GREAT pleasure!) while I went to Hinsdale Hospital's Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic. I had my meeting with the dietitian who said I didn't really need to meet with her because I was doing okay with the diet and controlling my daytime sugar numbers. I also had an ultrasound and met with the doctor. Peanut got a clean bill of health... and confirmation that he is still a he.... As of the 29th, he weighed 1 lb 15 oz and was 13 inches long. He was exactly were he should be for 26 weeks. The doctor was a little concerned about my fasting (first thing in the morning) blood sugar numbers, but delayed putting me on medication. For the next few weeks, I just have to call in my blood sugar numbers weekly. I go back to the doctor for a regular check up October 21 and then for another ultrasound on Oct. 26.
I think that covers most of what happened in the second half of September... I'll try to be better about getting updates posted in the future.
