October has continued the September trend of being busy!
Saturday, October 2nd I had the pleasure of attending a DAR grave marking for Polly Emory Royce. Her father was a Massachusetts Minute Man who fought in the Revolutionary War. She and her husband were also one of the founding families of the Naperville area. It was a very nice ceremony and our DAR chapter was very lucky to have the support of local governments to make it as nice as it was. While I was gone, Dave took Emma to Ty Warner park and even though it was cold, they had a lot of fun. I had time to whisk home after the ceremony for a quick bite of lunch before we tumbled back out the door to head to Julie's for Canasta. It was a great afternoon of visiting and card playing even though I lost money in our "high stakes" games.
Sunday was a productive day at home. Our patio furniture has made it back into storage for the winter and some cleaning got done. We are looking forward to celebrating Dave's Mom's birthday this coming weekend and the mini vacation we have coming up soon. More updates to come....
