Dave to the Rescue

When I got up yesterday, I knew it was going to be busier than normal, but I never imagined just how crazy things would get!
Emma and I left the house about 9 to head to my DAR board meeting. Even though we left with plenty of time to get there, road construction slowed us down and we were a little late. After the meeting, we stopped to get gas and a bite to eat for lunch. So far, so good. Other than a slightly tired Emma (who took a mini nap in the car) I was doing okay.
Then I decided to go to the grocery store. For some reason, I did something that I normally don't do, I used the remote to lock the car and put the keys in my purse after I opened Emma's door, but before I got her out of the car. Normally, I would have waited to lock the car until I had Emma out. I put my purse (with the keys in it) on the floor of the backseat while I went to unbuckle Emma and I noticed her diaper was really full. So, I grabbed a dry diaper out of the bag and was going to change her diaper in the cargo area. With Emma on my hip and the dry diaper in hand, I closed Emma's door and went to pull up the tailgate and that's when I realized what I had done.
The people inside Jewel were very nice and they let me call Dave who thankfully was at his desk. Since it was right around lunch time, he was able to leave work to go home and get the back up keys for the car and then he came to rescue us at the grocery store. While we waited for Dave, I used the store's diaper deck in the washroom to get Emma's diaper changed and we did the shopping that I could remember from the list. Once Dave got there, I had just a few things that I had missed from the list and to check out. I felt like I was wearing a big "stupid" sticker the entire time I was at the store.
I did redeem myself during Emma's afternoon nap though.... I got the lawn mowed (front and back) before the evening's thunderstorms came in.
